We had great communication, he really kept me in the loop with current progress, and he was so professional and courteous.

Client Testimonial: "Compared to the job done before - my new site is 1000 times better looking. Josh was professional the whole way through! I will be back the next time the site needs an updated look for sure!"

The Project: This is a re-design of an OSCommerce site. OSCommerce is an Open Source application you can install on your website/server to run an E-Commerce store. The default OSCommerce design is very bland and basic, so I was very excited to re-design it for this client. I had a lot of fun with this re-design.

Client Testimonial: Josh is an awesome website designer. He was committed to building me the best site he could and even though I changed my mind numerous times, he remained dedicated. His coding and programming skills are phenomenal. I would recommend Josh to anyone to build their site.

The Project: This was my first go at a complete Auction site, and I feel it ended up being a wonderful example of the power of PHP/MySQL. The entire backend is running on PHP/MySQL, the site was designed in HTML/CSS with some minor flash work.

Contessa Cares (Click to View)

Client Testimonial: I wanted to THANK YOU for the fabulous website (www.contessacares.com) you created for me! This skin care line is my baby and I was a little nervous about someone else handling it, but you completely and immediately captured the essence of my product line and what I wanted to convey to the public. Your attention to detail as well as your creativity has made me one very happy business owner who is quite proud to showcase her new website! You are a ROCK STAR!

The Project: Contessa Cares "A Sigh of Relief" is a line of skin care products made specifically for those who are facing the severities of chemotherapy, radiation, burns, as well as skin sensititivies such as eczema, psoriasis, and rosacia. I was contacted by the creator of the product who was looking for a web designer to create an informational website describing the product, as well as an e-commerce system with payments being made through Authorize.NET. The shopping cart was hand coded with PHP/MYSQL. The design itself was drawn in Photoshop then sliced and put back together with CSS. The product has received celebrity attention from Lea Thompson, Jamie Luner, Tia Carerra, and Jackie Haas. The product has also been put in gift baskets for such people as Chelsea Handler and Tori Spelling. I don't mean to name drop - it's just been a very exciting project for me - and I'm very much looking forward to working with more of the "Contessa" line in the future!

Client Testimonial: Fantasic! Great great great great job! I appreciate your hardwork, it definitely shows! You exceeded my expectations!

Date Completed: March 28th, 2009

The Project: This project is a web application built from the ground up. The back-end of the site is completely PHP/MYSQL driven, and the front end of the website is HTML/CSS. The client is able to administrate the website, and the client's sales reps are able to use the site as well. The scrolling graphic in the middle of the page was created in Flash. The logo was designed by me and created in Photoshop. Due to the privacy of the project requested by the client, I can't go too much into what was done. This was a huge project, and I'm very happy with how everything turned out!

Kansas Trophy Outfitters (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: "Thanks again, site is awesome."

The Project: The project consisted of building a website from scratch for Kansas Trophy Outfitters, a company that does guided deer hunts in Kansas. The entire process needed to be completed within 2 weeks, and was completed in 3-4 days. A photo gallery needed to be added that had the advanced feature of the pictures "jumping" off the page when you clicked on one. An about us, rates and dates, and contact us page was added. A PHP-based form was also coded for the site that allows pontential customers to fill out and it automatically e-mails the contents of the form to the company. The header was created in Flash and Photoshop, and it scrolls pictures from the photo gallery under a transparent logo - and adds a very nice level of being unique but still showcasing the company's main "image" - and their very happy customers!

JSTJ Portfolio Version 1 (Click to view)

The Project: I wanted a "fun" site with a fast loading flash menu. A PHP-based contact page was added for potential clients to fill out and send quotes directly to my email. The site had to represent me as a designer, but also fit a wide range of potential clients tastes. After awhile, I decided to go for a more professional look - but will keep my original site in my portfolio for those interested!

G.R. Metro Plumbing (Click to View)

The Project: G.R. Metro Plumbing contacted me originally for help with Search Engine Rankings. After taking a look at their previous site, I talked to them about the benefits of a full redesign built from the ground up with Search Engine Optimization in mind. I built a custom admin control panel for them so they're easily able to update their website's content without any coding required what-so-ever. They wanted a unique design that set them apart from their competition - so I drew the entire design in Flash and Photoshop to give it a professional and unique feel. The site is coded in HTML/CSS and the back-end programming was done in PHP/MYSQL. The entire process from start to completion took less than two weeks.

JSTJ Web Design Portfolio 2

The Project: This was the last portfolio design I used prior to this one. I enjoyed the colors of it quite a bit, and I received many compliments on it - but I felt it wasn't "me" enough yet. While I try to keep my portfolio as business oriented as possible - I feel that the more of my tastes I put into my portfolio, the better you understand me as a designer.

Missie McGovern Photography (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: Josh did such an amazing job in designing my website! It was so much better than I could ever dreamed. He is great at listening and understanding exactly what I was looking for. Then in a few "magic clicks" he makes it possible! Thanks for all your hard work, Josh! I'm giving your name to everyone.

The Project: Missie needed an updated portfolio for her Photography business. Her site is built mostly in Flash and PHP/MYSQL. She is able to add clients and their photos on her website so clients can log in with an unique username and password and view their proofs online when they have time. This is done entirely through a custom/hand-coded admin control panel, so there is no need for her to learn any coding what so ever.

Painted Imagination

Client Testimonial: Josh St John did an excellent job on the website. He runs his business in a professional manner with a real concern for what my thoughts were throughout the process. I am very happy with how it turned out!

The Project: Jennifer requested a quote to create an informational website for her amazing artwork. The website is built on HTML/CSS and PHP/MYSQL with a small Flash movie fading pieces of her art in and out as you visit the page. The design is very clean and doesn't take away attention from her art. I built a custom photo gallery for her, and a custom blog/news system to keep her visitors informed of her latest work. She is able to completely keep her website up to date without the knowledge of an experienced programmer. A standard contact form is also included for commissions or job requests. You should definitely take a look at her work when you have a chance, it's very impressive!

Dragonflies Floral & Gift Baskets (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: I started Dragonflies Floral and Gift Baskets a little over four years ago and there was little in the budget for advertising. I was able to have a basic website established with a few pictures. My intention was to add on as I could afford it, however, the price for upkeep and updating became outrageously expensive. Therefor my website was untouched for over four years. Mother's Day and Proms were coming up and I wanted to have something new for potential customers to see. I had searched high and low for web designers. I came upon Josh St. Johns website and I was impressed. I asked for a price quote for my specifications for a whole new site and with in 15 minutes I had a response. Josh appreciated the position I was in with Mother's Day and Prom and how florists depend on these events to finance the rest of the year. The same night Josh was at my shop with a contract and a few preliminary ideas of what he would like to do for my website. Josh was at all times extremely professional and thoughtful. On top of that an AWESOME web designer. I have a great starter site and will be able to add on anytime at a very fair price. Thank you Josh for helping me get out there with a great new website.

The Project: Kimberly K, the owner of Dragonflies Floral & Gift Baskets in Kentwood, Michigan contacted me because she was going to be featured in the Kentwood Advance. Her current site was built years ago and she really wanted business from the publicity for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday. I met with Kimberly a couple of times to make sure that I was building the site she always dreamed of that represents her business well. The site is built in CSS/HTML with quite a bit of Flash too.

International Body Works Fitness (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: Coming soon

The Project: I was contacted by Jorge Rogriguez, looking to give his current site a redesign for his business, International Body Work Fitness located in Rockford. The site is built in CSS/HTML with Flash aspects.

Grown Here Not Flown Here (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: I want you to know that Josh St. John has proven to be incredibly informed and helpful with the creation and constant updating of my website. As I am a complete novice to the computer, Josh has dealt with my neverending requests and dumb questions with complete professionalism and in a very timely fashion. There are so many people offering website design these days, and I feel totally lucky to have Josh working on mine. I look forward to an ongoing working relationship with him for years to come and highly recommend his work.

The Project: I was asked to build a site that will support local Farms, Food Artisans, and Handcrafters. The site allows the administrators of the site to add new articles in a variety of categories from gardening to nutrition. GHNFH also allows local Farms, Food Artisans, and Handcrafters to register their business to a database - which is searchable by zip code and radius for interested visitors to find these businesses closest to them. Visitors to the site can also register for a username and password, which saves their local information and shows them new businesses that are near their zip code. This site was heavily built from the ground up on PHP/MYSQL.

Real Results Fitness (Click to view)

Client Testimonial: The Site Looks Great! Thank You For Being So Patient And Designing The Site Exactly The Way I Wanted It. Your Time And Hard Work Are Greatly Appreciated!

The Project: David Modderman, seen frequently on WZZM 13's "Take Five..." program contacted me requesting a redesign of his current site. This site serves as an informational "advertisement". David wanted the site to give most of the information to the client right away, without having to click through numerous menus. This site also features a PHP-coded contact form.

Under Twin Skies

The Project: The goal was create a Fan Site for Twin Skies, a computer game being created by Meteor Games. There needed to be a news system added for multiple people to update the site as news on the game came in, and the look had to be crisp and clean - yet fun. Google Advertising space had to be added in a way that created revenue for the site, but wasn't annoying or take away from the design. A Forum system was added for website visitors to discuss the game. The website actually caught attention of the staff at Meteor Games and was listed as a fan site on the Twin Skies website! The staff are also seen visiting the forums at this website frequently.

Our Freaky Creatures

The Project: Freaky Creatures is a mixture of those Webkins your kids may be addicted to, and Pokemon. Our Freaky Creatures needed a fun design that's kid friendly yet professional. A Forum system was also added for fans to discuss the toys and game, and the design gave the website owner plenty of space to add pictures of the toys without it looking out of place. This website also caught attention of the creators of Freaky Creatures, and they gave forum members on that website exclusive access to test the game before it came out!
